12:50 am - Happy Christmas.
The Yule Ball was splendid. Everyone has already commented on it, so I shall not bore you with any of the superficial details. Penny liked my robes. And she looked quite lovely in her dark blue robes. We weren't targeted by any magical mistletoe, yet. I spent a lot of the time talking to that Hufflepuff prefect, Diggory and his date. He seemed like a pleasant fellow. I really wanted to talk to Mr. Reiss, but he was too busy with several of the female professors. Well, next time.

12:20 am - Christmas
Well, I see you have all heard about the Yule Ball already! I'm surprised that they're having one this year. I don't ever remember there being one before while I was here. Certainly not one open to all the years. But I guess it might be a good idea to try to keep everyone sane during the whole Sirius Black crisis.

Also, I was told by Professors Dumbledore and Flitwick that Hogwarts is being sent an Auror. It's my duty to show him around when he arrives. I owled Mum about it and she was pleased.

Speaking of Mum, she owled us (us being the Weasleys at Hogwarts) a very mixed letter. Half of it, she wanted us to come home, the latter said that we would do better if we stayed put at Hogwarts. I suppose perhaps Dad suggested that we'd be fine here.

Going to take Penny to the ball. I'll have to find wherever I left my dress robes. They used to be Bill's, actually. But, I've seen the thing that Mum will probably send Ron to wear. She bought it for me when I first entered Hogwarts, and already then it had been used. I, fortunately, never had to wear it. Heh, poor fellow. And the way Fred and George dirtied up their regular robes--well, I've never seen the ones Mum got for them, since she never let them wear anything fancy, for fear that they'd be keen on destroying them.

11:15 pm - We almost had it.
I've never been so alarmed during a Quidditch game. First of all, although I had already cast impervius on my glasses, I couldn't really see the players very well through all the rain. Penny was rooting for Hufflepuff, because she thinks that Ravenclaw would have a better chance up against Hufflepuff, and I, of course was leading on cheers for Gryffindor!

Angelina, Katie, and Alicia were really going at it. We would have won... Except. those Dementors nearly killed Harry. I ran down, out of the stands and helped direct students back to their dormitories after the game ended. Sadly, Hufflepuff won. But Harry's safety is more important.

11:07 am - Strange...
I had my first Magical Media Studies class yesterday. It was very interesting; excluding the parts when either Lockhart's hair or the back of my head were covered with spitballs. Since I know that they were responsible for the spitballs on the back of my head, I shall assume that they had been responsible for the paper bits in Lockhart's hair. How utterly horrid. Really, a headboy's brothers should not be so disrespectful to a teacher, even if it is Lockhart.

But Lockhart's new class seems slightly more interesting than when he taught Defense Against the Dark Arts. And he liked the answer I gave him concerning the Daily Prophet. *proud*

After class, I deducted three points from Fred and George. I probably should have taken off more, but really, I felt generous today.

By the way, my first class with Professor Wolfe was disasterous. She kept getting angry at me for answering her questions. I can't help it if I was the only one raising my hand.

1:17 am - Potions
Professor Snape took three points from Gryffindor because he said that I was a "know-it-all." I think not. I was only trying to help Oliver with his Memory Potion. I bet he was dreaming of Quidditch once again. T_T; Quidditch is fine and good, but not when it conflicts with studying. More Gryffindors should understand that.

Well, of course I'd get myself. But Ravenclaw? Well, well! I think one Ravenclaw in the relationship is good enough, eh Penny? {:)

Oh, and my code is: 354233524142221, if any of you chaps are interested.

1:51 am - Terrible!
We had a meeting with our substitute head of the house, Professor Wolfe. Not only am I bothered by her gross negligence of the rules, but also the rumours going around about her. Now, I realize that my brothers cannot be considered the most credible, but the whole bloody school has some sort of story they've heard about her goings on with Professor Snape. How disgusting, if they happen to be true. But I'm not really interested in such gossip, but still, it makes one wonder why rumours of that nature would be spread. =/

I have to admit, Ron was being quite insufferable; whether Professor Wolfe's morals are questionable or not, she's still an authority figure of some sort. She thinks I'm an alcoholic, since I was trying to softly hint to her that she wasn't being very responsible by coming to see us obviously under the influence of alcohol. Hmph. Ruddy fine year this is, we're already starting out with negative five points.

3:04 pm - Hmm
Well, I'm back at Hogwarts once again. It's great to be here. I felt really good last night because I was patrolling the halls and saw some Ravenclaw fourth years snogging in a dark hall and told them to go back to their dorms or I'd deduct points. They were about to say something to me until I puffed out my chest so that they could get a look at my badge. They walked away scowling. But how could anyone do that? Especially since they were breaking rules by being out that late.

Earlier at King's Cross, Mum and Dad said goodbye to us all. Something tells me that Fred and George are up to something, but that seems to always be the case. I shall have to watch them closely. Ron and Hermione argue a lot, I thought I'd say that. And about the most simple of things. Almost like an old, married couple. Ginny and Harry were mostly being quiet. And Mum was warning Fred, George, and Ron about various things--the usuals. After we said goodbye to Mum and Dad, we went through the barrier to Nine and Three-Quarters. Saw Penny almost immediately and ran off to show her my shiny badge. She was very impressed. Just as we were boarding the train, the press showed up. Seems that Gilderoy Lockhart has come back to teach us. I must say, I hope the man plans to teach better than he tried the last time. He went off onto so many tangents. And however exciting his adventures are, I really wanted to learn.

On the train ride, Penny and I went over the arithmancy problems we had been assigned over summer holiday. She caught a mistake I had made on of them. *blushes* I was very flustered about that and she poked fun at me a bit. Er. So I heard there was all this hubbub on the train, due to...dementors.. Horrible creatures, or so I've read in my books. Harry apparently passed out due to one. Poor chap. I hope he'll feel better.

2:20 pm - Searching
I'm nearly going to pieces about finding my badge. I KNOW that Fred and George have it. They keep grinning at me whenever they see me. Makes me rather paranoid. But I still hold the trump card; I know about their little experiments. Mum would be quite distressed if she knew what was in there. They're supposed to be studying for their O.W.L.'s as well as getting ready for the new school year and they clearly aren't.

What am I supposed to do if I don't get my badge back by the time we go to Hogwarts?! *panic*

6:35 pm - Confound it!
I've looked everywhere for my badge. I know that I came back to the Leaky Cauldron with it after shopping, so either I've misplaced it (highly unlikely) or one of the boys stole it (Fred, George, I'm looking at you). Penny's beautiful photo got tea spilled on it, due to Ron's carelessness. She's cowering away from those spots in the photo, now. I must remember to ask her for a new one. *blush*
Ron's slowly starting to use the homekeys on the computer, but I think Fred and George are never going to listen to my advice on Muggle keyboards. Ginny's doing well, though.
I still have some work to do for school before it starts. So, I'll be signing off for now. Good day.
